Voter Registration Resources

To register to vote in Wyandotte County, you must:

  • Be a United States citizen

  • Be 18 years of age or older (applicants who will be 18 before the next election are welcome to submit an application)

  • Be a resident of Wyandotte County

ID requirements when registering to vote: Kansas driver’s license number or nondriver’s identification card number. If you do not have either one, enter the last four digits of your Social Security number. If you do not have any of these numbers, write “none” in the box. The number will be used for administrative purposes only and will not be disclosed to the public. K.S.A. 25-2309 

  • Finding out if you are currently registered to vote is as easy as doing one of the following:

    Visit the Secretary of State's VoterView tool. Please note, the information you enter (name and birth date) must match your registration record exactly. For instance, if you registered as William Jones, but search for Bill Jones, no matches will be found.

    Call our office at 913-573-8500. Provide a staff member your name and birth date and we will be happy to look you up in the statewide voter registration database.

  • Wyandotte County residents have several convenient options for submitting a voter registration application.

    Online: If you have a current Kansas driver's license or nondriver's identification card, you can register to vote online. Follow the instructions to input your registrant information (name, address, party affiliation, etc.).

    On paper: If you prefer to use a paper form, or don't have a Kansas driver's license or nondriver's identification card, you can easily register using a paper registration form. You can also request that one be sent to you by calling our office at 913-573-8500 or contacting us via e-mail at [email protected]

    Submit your completed and signed application to us using one of the following methods: drop it off at our office at 850 State Avenue during normal business hours. Mail it to our office at 850 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66101. Scan and email it to us at [email protected]. Fax it to us at 913-573-8580.

    In person: You may fill out a paper form in person at any of the following locations:

    Wyandotte County Election Office, 850 State Avenue. UG City Hall, 701 N 7th Street. Bonner Springs City Hall, 205 E 2nd Street, Bonner Springs. Edwardsville City Hall, 690 S 4th Street, Edwardsville . Kansas driver's license offices. Public assistance office. Public libraries.

  • You need to provide us your updated information whenever you have had a change of address, name, or party. To update your Voter Registration information, please see the “How to register to vote in Wyandotte County” section. You must fill out a Voter Registration Application to update your record.
